Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the Cable Guide: DIY & Pinouts iOS app ("the app") developed and operated by Saed Zakari ("we", "us").

The short version

Cable Guide does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifying information. The app does not include analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking SDKs. All cable data, your bookmarks, and your Pro Unlock status are stored locally on your device.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos, or device identifiers.
We do not use analytics tools, crash reporters, or advertising frameworks.
We do not maintain user accounts or any backend servers that store your data.
We do not sell, share, or rent any data to third parties (we have none to sell).

Information stored locally on your device

The following information is stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData / Core Data framework, and never leaves your device:

Your bookmarked cables.
A flag indicating whether you have purchased Cables Pro on this Apple ID.

Apple services we rely on

When you make or restore an in-app purchase ("Cables Pro"), the app uses Apple's StoreKit framework. Payment processing, receipt verification, and Apple ID handling are performed entirely by Apple. We never see your payment information. Apple's handling of this information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Links to external websites

The "Where to buy" sections of the app contain links to retailer websites (Amazon, Monoprice, Home Depot, B&H Photo, Sweetwater, Digi-Key, Markertek, Sweetwater, FS.com, ShowMeCables, trueCABLE, Ubiquiti Store and others) and a "Photos" link that opens a Google Images search. Tapping these links opens the URL in your device's web browser. Once you leave the app, the privacy policy of the destination website applies. We do not include affiliate codes or tracking parameters in these links.

Children's privacy

Cable Guide is rated 4+ on the App Store and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date.
